Registration, Parent Orientation, Forms & Payments
The Youth Symphony of Southern Oregon organization holds Parent Orientation Meetings
in the fall for parents to become acquainted with each other, meet
the conductors, staff and board, submit all required registration forms
and payments, and learn about the organization. YSSO parents and families
are expected to understand and comply with all YSSO policies, procedures and
expectations.
Parents sign up for a variety of important volunteer
opportunities at the meeting as well. Members of the YSSO Volunteer Steering Committee are on hand to talk about these opportunities and to schedule volunteers. YSSO families are asked to assist with at least two volunteer activities during the season in addition to providing refreshments for rehearsals at least twice per year. The success of the Youth Symphony of
Southern Oregon is dependent upon the support and full participation of
parents and families.
Parent Orientation Sessions and Registration
for the 2011-2012 concert season took place on Sunday, October 2, 2011, at North Medford High School.
All parents or guaradians were asked to attend the meeting(s). Youth Orchestra and Youth Strings parents met at 1:00 p.m. Youth Symphony parents met at 3:00 p.m.
All required forms and materials, a schedule and a handbook for 2011-2012 were included in the registration packet distributed to each musician at his/her audition. All forms are expected to be completed and turned in on October 2, including the School Music Program participation form.
If the annual registration forms are not turned in at registration on October 2, musicians and families must complete, sign and mail all forms and payments to the YSSO, P.O. Box 4291, Medford, OR 97501, by no later than October 10.
