Chamber Music Series Information

The Chamber Music Series program provides an opportunity for advanced-level Youth Symphony of Southern Oregon musicians to learn and perform chamber music in community settings. Participation is by either invitation or application. Musicians submit an application at registration. The YSSO Music Director selects musicians and forms the ensembles. Musicians selected to participate will be assigned to an ensemble based upon technical proficiency, level of musical development and the number and structure of the ensembles. It may not be possible to place all eligible and interested musicians in an ensemble. This program is optional for musicians.

Musicians are expected to work on assigned music in between coached rehearsals. The rehearsal period for this program is brief and music can be challenging.

Rehearsals for Chamber Music Series ensembles may be concurrent with regular YSSO rehearals or may begin following the Fall Concert Series. Some ensembles may be asked to perform in other venues so musicians should be prepared to schedule additional rehearsals and learn additional repertoire.
