Chamber Music Series Information
The Chamber Music Series program provides an opportunity for advanced Youth Symphony musicians to learn and perform chamber music in community settings. Participation is by either invitation or application. The YSSO Music Director selects musicians and forms the ensembles. Musicians invited to participate will be assigned to an ensemble based upon technical proficiency, level of musical development and the number and structure of the ensembles. Participating musicians will receive assignments and information in October.
Musicians are expected to know their parts and rehearse at least two times in addition to the scheduled coached rehearsals.
Some rehearsals
for Chamber Music Series ensembles may be concurrent with regular YSSO rehearals and others will take place following the Fall
Concert Series. Some ensembles may be asked to perform in other venues
so musicians should be prepared to schedule additional rehearsals and
learn additional repertoire.
The performances will be at 2:00 p.m. on December 11, 2010, in Jacksonville and at 2:00 p.m. on December 12, 2010, in Ashland. Some or all of the Chamber Music Series ensembles will participate in a Community Outreach Concert at the Rogue Valley Manor as well.
